The wind howled throughout the storm, grabbing everything it it's wake, and swallowing it whole. It screams echoed, for the ocean to hear. The sky cracked with thunder and grey clouds followed it's lead.

The waves crashed against the giant ship, rocking it violently from side to side. Next came the rocks that threw themselves against everything they could, including the ship. An island was only a few miles ahead but the clouds were obstructing the view.

Everyone on the boat was tossed into the sea, only a few incredibly lucky people would be able to survive such a cruel fate. The storm seemed to last for an eternity, Only a few hours ago the weather was clear and sunny. Now this.

Something had to be causing such drastic changes in the weather. The ship was being used to transport ancient artefacts to an island far out of reach from the world called Guacamole Island.

It was an island untouched by humans nor any animals, Just a blank canvas. The perfect place to keep such valuable artefacts.

Term 3 week 2 Learning reflection

In this week of school, I have really enjoyed meeting the Japanese exchange students and being able to talk and play with them. It was the highlight of my week.

In class I learned how to multiply decimals with the help of a punnet square and place value.

Next week at school, I want to try and get my 15 minute writing words over 200.

A long walk to water - Chapter 6 prediction.

A long walk to water prediction.

A the end of chapter 5, Salva hears someone behind him call his name. I willing to guess that the person who called his name if one of his brothers, or someone else in his family.

Mariel tells Salva that they could be heading to Ethiopia.  I think that when Salva and everyone else arrives in Ethiopia, he will get some sort of clue as to where his family member is.

A Long Walk to Water - Part 1 Discussion Questions.

In the first chapter, we learn that Salva is from which is in South Sudan. He is 11 years old and has three brothers and two sisters. His fathers is successful and a very respected man.

In his life he has huge responsibility and has his fathers shoes to fill. In many ways, his life is very different from mine.

The first chapter shows some of the questions going through Salva's head which are "Where are we going?" "Where is my family" and "When will I see them again?" If I were In that same situation, I'd probably be thinking the same things.

Everyday, Nya goes to collect water for her family, She has to endure the heaviness of the plastic bottle and the thorns going against her feet. I would dread having to spend almost everyday walking and would get tired of carrying the filled plastic bottle on my head.

You can tell tribes apart by the scar markings on their heads. One of the ways I can tell students of other cultures apart is by looking at their uniform I can tell where their school is and cultures they have in that area.

Stargazing

stargazing

The sky slowly turned into a dark blue as the sun went deeper into the earths horizon. The stars started to flicker into place, each one shinning a bright light. The cold icy land was reflecting the light off the stars giving a stunning mirror effect.

At last, the world felt ghostly still. My heart beat slowed as I slowly started to take in the breathtaking sight.

It was 6:26, only 4 minutes left until the meteor shower would begin and I could barely hold in my excitement. I in a rush took out all the camera equipment and began to set up the camera stand. This was it, the moment I'd waiting so long for.

I looked again at my watch, 6:30...not a second later, the sky was filled with a rush of light coming from the east. It was like scene from a movie or a fairy-tale, the beauty of it all was so breathtaking. In the moment I felt happiness, joy and calmness.

A balanced diet.

A balanced diet.

Every morning, I wake up to find a book on plate. All the colour that remains is in the yellow bookmark.

I look around, I'm in a room with no windows and no door? Strange...

The walls are grey and all that is near me is a hanging light above me, a table, a mirror and the meal in front of me.

In all honesty, the book didn't look all that appetising and I wasn't in the mood for cake shaped book. How did I even get here? I don't remember doing anything before coming here. I must've came from somewhere.

I grabbed the mirror and stared at my reflection. Funny, I can't even recognise the person staring back me. I was a young man, maybe around thirty. Pale skin, Brown hair and brown eyes. I was wearing a blue buttoned up shirt and some black pants. I looked like any other normal person.

Time seemed to stand still. Besides my better judgement I grabbed the book and opened its pages only to find that it was blank. Now, the next thing I do seems like something like only a crazy person would do but my curiosity was begging to be fed.

I bit into the book.
